My senior project is designed to aid in physical therapy for patients who find it troublesome to make the trip to the PT office a few days a week. This project will allow patients and physical therapists to have sessions without having to meet face to face. Essentially, there is an Xbox 360 Kinect – which has a camera designed for motion tracking – and an anthropomorphic robot (Alpha-1S) made by UBTECH. The Kinect is programmed, using C#, to track the user’s motions. It has a set list of exercises that it is programmed to recognize. Once it recognizes the exercise being performed, it will send that information to the anthropomorphic robot, and it will complete the exercise using the proper form so the patient knows they are doing the exercise correctly.
