ECE454 Senior Design Project

May Progress Report

  • Code is functional, but can’t figure out communication between robot and Kinect
  • Had to crash the project to simply arm movement instead of full body exercises
    • Now the robot only has to do front delt raises (with both arms), lateral delt raises, and push-ups – which are common PT exercises
  • Have a strict deadline of May 19th, 2016.
  • Still a work in progress

April Progress Report

  • Decided to switch to Alpha 1S anthropomorphic robot made by UBTECH
    • This robot has much greater range of motion and is already programmed with many presets
  • Figured out how to program the robot using software given by UBTECH
  • Started coding (in C#) so the Kinect can communicate with the robot

March Progress Report

  • Robot built – but needs some modifications
  • Kinect set up with FitPC3
    • Able to see image on screen from Kinect
  • Trying to figure out which microcontroller to use – leaning towards dragonboard or arduino

February Progress Report

  • Brainstorm an idea for a project
  • Order parts to build an anthropomorphic robot
  • Gather other parts/equipment needed such as:
    • FitPC3
    • Xbox 360 Kinect
    • Computer Moniter
    • Various Tools
