Week 6
Week 6
During week six I disassembled and reassembled the copter to check the circuitry of the speed controllers. I found nothing wrong with the setup and did some more research on the AR 610 receiver. The receiver should be able to control all the motors through the THRO channel and the flight controller. I then downloaded Cleanflight, which is a program similar to baseflight and reprogrammed the flight controller. In Cleanflight i was able to setup and arming sequence, which can be seen in the notebook. This successfully armed the flight controller. I then tested receiver and transmitter independently from Cleanflight and found that I was able to control the motors properly with the transmitter and receiver.

Week 5
During week five I downloaded software, called baseflight, which allows the naze 32 flight controller to be calibrated and programmed. Through baseflight I was able to confirm that the motors, gyroscope, accelerometer, and the RC inputs were functioning properly. While testing the motors with the transmitter and receiver, I found that only one channel on the receiver was functioning properly. I tested the motors through another receiver and the same problem occurred. This then left me with figuring out the receiver problem and trying to figure out how the flight controller is armed, which is required for flight.

Week 4
During week four I acquired datasheets and manuals for the Qualcom and the Afro flight 32 flight controller. I also attempted to get the the Qualcom processor functioning, but it would not display the android os on the monitor. I believe i need a SD card with os installed on it to run the Qualcom properly. The second half of the week i attempted to get the copter to function using the information provided by the previous seniors. I used an Arduino to try and run the copter but this method failed.

Weeks 1-3
Week 1:
Week one was used to go over project management concepts. These concepts included gantt charts, pert charts, and work breakdown structure. Also during week one the class chose projects and discussed the work breakdown structure for each project.
Week 2:
Week two was dedicated to learning the format of the notebook and portfolio, where the progress of our projects will be recorded. The end of week two consisted of learning about real time systems vs threaded systems and which type of system would best apply to our projects. For my quad-copter project, I will be using a real time system to allow the copter to function as desired.
Week 3:
During week three, the milestones markers were determined for our projects and Philip Erb discussed how the WordPress site functions.
