Project Description

The Foginator is an autonomous and adaptive greenhouse which implements supplement delivery technique derived from hydroponics that is  known as, Fogponics. The greenhouse is designed to create an optimal growth environment for a desired plant and maintain this environment autonomously.

This project is a continuation of a former students senior project, Nathan Williams. To learn more about the details that inspired this project, please feel free to follow the link below.

As the project rests, there are a few complications that need to be recognized and discovered.  It is my job to figure out these complications and research new possibilities to maximize the potential of this project. It is also my duty to implement these design changes to create a fully functioning environment.

Deliverables

  1. Locate Source of Complication
  2. Implement Sensors
  3. Reconstruct Circuit
  4. Implement Spectrometer
  5. Implement System

Milestones

  1. Documentation/Review    Completed
  2. Pick Sensors to Utilize        Completed
  3. Test Sensors                              Completed
  4. Integrate Sensors                   Partially Completed
  5. Implement Spectrometer  Incomplete
  6. Integrate System                    Incomplete
  7. Troubleshoot                            In Progress

Extension/Changes

Unfortunately, the existing Co2 and o2 sensors will not produce accurate readings. This requires a change in the project utilizing more expensive sensors. However, this change is only for future construction of the Foginator.
